A Suleja based House-wife raises alarm over threats to her life by Vigilante group

By Naseer Al- Naseer, Minna.

A Suleja based House-wife, Hajiya Zainab Abdulfatah has raised alarm over threat to her life and that of her children by some people who claimed to be Vigilante group in Suleja, Suleja local government area of Niger State.

The vigilante group (security outfit) stormed the home of the mother of six children in  her matrimonial home in Gabodan area of Suleja on allegation that her husband, named Abdullahi Fatah Shu'aib was involved in what was termed as Sodomy (man to man illicit affair)with one Wahab who is currently in their custody.

She also claimed that the vigilante group who stormed her residence along with some people who happens to be Muslims in the area alledged that she is aware of her husband's involvement in the activity of sodomy which they said was against the religion of Islam.

Hajiya zainab Abdulfatah told The Eagle Eye in an exclusive interview that the security told her that Wahab, who is in their custody, confessed that her husband and him were both lovers and always had sex together before Abdulfatah travelled.

According to her "when the Vigilante group and some Muslims in the community stormed my house, they asked me to provide my husband or face the consequences of the crime committed by my husband, which is against the religion of Islam, they continued to say that even a housefly of the house will not be spared if I failed to produce my husband.

If not for the timely intervention of the police, only God would know what would have happened to me and my children.

I overheard the elderly ones among them putting their heads together discussing how to set our house ablaze if I failed to tell of my husband's whereabout.

As it's now, my life is seriously in danger as they keep coming to the house day in day out, threatening me and my children to provide information about the whereabouts of my husband failure to do so, our lives are in danger for the offence committed by my husband.

The case is getting worse day by day because my husband was one of the religious leaders in the area and that nobody could ever believe he could get involved in that kind of mess." She said.

Narrating her ordeals in the hands of the Vigilante group, Hajiya zainab Abdulfatah added that she and her children could no longer sleep with their two eyes closed for fear of being attacked in the midnight.

She had called on the police several times to give her protection against the people but they said I should provide my husband instead. Because he had committed a great crime against the law of the country.

According to her, she and the children will need to leave and keep away from the house for sometime.

According to her neighbours, it was like Abdulfatah knew something bad was about to happen to him, he fled. He traveled to only God knows where. Abdulfatah has left his family sometimes in April and up till now, nobody in the environment knows his whereabouts.

If you ask his children where their father is, they will tell you that he has travelled.

From the look of things, it's like Abdulfatah had been informed of the whole catastrophe and nobody knows precisely where he traveled to or when he will be back.

He might have been told not to come back or hide where he is because if tries to come back; he will be met with the quenciquencies of his actions, says

another neighbor.
