Nigeria Customs hosts sensitization workshop for licensed agents and bonded terminal operators in Kano

The Kano Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) on Thursday organized a sensitization workshop for licensed customs agents and bonded terminal operators in Kano. 

The event aimed to boost service delivery and trade facilitation in the region.

This is contained in a statement issued by the Area Command Public Relations Officer, Sa'idu Nurudeen in Kano on Thursday.

The statement quoted Comptroller Dauda  Chana, the host and representative of the Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC),  emphasizing the importance of collaboration between Customs Agents, Bonded terminal operators, and the Service in promoting trade facilitation and combating smuggling.

Comptroller Funmilayo Fajana of the License and Permit unit, Trade and Tariff Department, Service Headquarters, delivered their speeches, highlighting the Service's commitment to streamlining processes and enhancing trade facilitation. 

Representatives of Customs Agents and Bonded warehouse operators shared their perspectives on the challenges and opportunities in the industry.

Renowned resource persons, led by DC Dalhatu Abubakar, delivered insightful lectures on topics crucial to the theme of the workshop. 

These sessions equipped participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to simplify Customs procedures and the new laws guiding their trade.

The workshop aimed to enhance understanding of Customs procedures and regulations among licensed Customs Agents and Bonded terminal operators, improve compliance with trade facilitation standards and foster collaboration between stakeholders in promoting legitimate trade.

The successful event marked a significant step towards achieving these objectives, paving the way for increased efficiency and effectiveness in Nigeria's Customs operations.
